It happens to every technique the only reason why it happened to itachi and sasuke is cause they're certain techniques are OP. the stronger the technique the more of a toll it takes on your eyes. Hence why Itachi had his MS almost all his life and still wasn't blind until his death but Sasuke got blind in a few weaks cause he spammed amaterastu. Kamui is different the eyes are gonna get sealed but not as easily

Kamui is mostly a defense and speed ms technique, Amaterasu is capable of defense and offense to high degrees, plus you can shape it into weapons. Kamui isn't as "powerful" as amaterasu. But it's very useful for people like Obito.
