The manga is called Naruto. Not every story does revolve around Naruto I can list a few:

Asuma (Naruto has no link to this story)
Sasuke side stories (after timeskip) has only had Naruto influence them twice al together about 2-4minutes.
The war arc had plenty of stories which Naruto didn't influence.
and many more.

It is presumed to be near the end of the series so it would make sense that a lot of the stories are reaching out to Naruto due to him being the protagonist. Also Naruto has gone through a lot worst times than Obito and he has remained good and has everything that obito ever dreamed of having. So what would rather have 'We Used To Be Friends' story or 'Obito's Envy Towards His Reflection' story.

I hope Kakashi gets killed by Obito since Kishi missed the chance to let Sasuke do it, however I'm glad with the Obito twist. Kishi has foreshadowed Kakashi's death since the introduction of him. How he tops Kakashi almost being killed by Obito earlier is going to be tough.

i don't see why he should, when the way to defeat obito is ridiculously easy. all he needs to do is Kamui one of naruto's sm clones into obito's dimension and keep it there in wait to trash obito up when he tries to phase.
