[Discussion] Will Edo Itachis eye regenerate itself?

With the Izanagi and Izanami, the user loses the light in their eye....for a normal, living user. Since Itachi is now an Edo Tensei, and from what we've seen any damage the Edo Tensei bodies have taken has repaired itself, would Itachi's eye regain it's light after using Izanami/Izanagi? Or would the loss supercede the Edo regeration? Thoughts...

well he loses sigfht thats not like losing the eye its self its still there so he won't be able to regenerate sight

He's going to lose his eye lets face it he's not suppose to be alive in the first place and he was even willing to burn Shisui eye , I'm guessing he's going to talk to sasuke and give his goodbyes.

It does'nt make sense plot wise though if it happened, as this jutsu(izanami) seems to be greater than edo tensei so any side effects should also be greater(my guess).

If I had to guess I would say that it would regenerate(everything else has with edo), but Kishi will be the one to answer that

it will probably close down itachi's eye, much like muu's splitting technique and nidaime mizukage's steam danger tyranny had a permanenet effect, even though they were edo tensei. the damage is not of a nature that can be regenerated i guess.

I just thought of something does anybody know if Itachi's eyes were bleeding when he and Nagato fought Naruto and Bee? That may give us some clue as to what will happen.

yes. he just didn't suffer the pain he usually does with the ms backlash, because edo tensei can't feel pain. case closed i guess, itachi will lose his eye/s.

Izanami might not seal the user's eyes like izanagi, it might just kill and seal the person who uses Izanami.

Actually.... that could account for how Shisui died. He used Izanami on Itachi.

I was thinking about this today, what if he uses it and his eye closes like what happened to danzo. But if he was to have his head blown apart and then regenerated i would think his eye would come back to way it was when he was first summoned.

After using Izanami, Kabuto will must likely be defeated. If this happens he wouldn't even need his eyes anymore, afterall his purpose in this war will be finished..
As he is an Edo, I think His eye will regenerate(hopefully)...

After reading a retranslation, the cost of Izanami is implied as being the eyesight of the user.

If that's the case, Izanami doesn't damage the eye until it's can't be used, it seals the eyesight of the person who has the sharingan in their head.

So... itachi can't really regenerate his eyes at that point, whether he's alive or otherwise.

The real question is whether having a seal placed on him is going to have some sort of adverse effect on Edo Itachi.

Edo Tensei is especially vulnerable to sealing jutsu. So much so, that if you make someone feel good about their past, they get sealed involuntarily, which is what happened to Sai's brother.

No. Its been stated that edo tensei's invulnerability only applies to physical wounds, ones that are suffered from external blows. Therefore, we can assume that the loss of eyesight due to overuse of MS techs or kinjutsu like Izanagi or Izanami will still effect an edo.

The main difference is that an edo can use MS techniques, for instance, as much as they want without suffering the backlash. This does not mean that a MS user will never go blind from it, but they would not have to retreat from the battle to recover like they would normally have to.

And in regard to the statement about Itachi possibly getting his head blown off... if Itachi did get his head severed or blown up after loosing his sight, his eye would not return to normal but rather return to its state after loosing its light.... dur....

Itachi uses one eye to determine the fate of Kabuto, and the other eye to "heal both eyes" at the same time. FTW

Well Izunami is a kinjutsu meaning there is some sort of risk seeing how the jutsu is extremely powerful.

Then again, if he's an Edo then maybe it will not effect him. I mean, he's spamming Susanoo, and he's now showing any signs of fatigue from that. (by the way, he doesn't have EMS so yeah)
