Hey guys,

i'm looking for a F2P mmo game to play with my friend, and after some searching online, i found Wildstar.

Is it worth the time or should i just keep looking for something else?

I hear it's done some major improvements since launch and is worth a shot (though still problems with PVP and endgame) but since launch was so bad, a bulk of the fans for that game left and it never really recovered. Personally idk i never played it, but based on that i'd say it might not be populated enough for it to survive in the long run and your real "mmo" experience may be lacking.

on that note Gw2 is an excellent F2p game. tho you have to buy it first... and once you cap it's sort of game over unless your big on exploring and collecting. The PVP is also the best in the bizz, (tho i personally think GW1 was superior) They are releasing a massive expansion next week!

Swtor is still currently my favorite MMO for now and i mostly held on for the past 2 yrs. It's free to play model is pretty crappy.. it's difficult to enjoy the game fully if you don't sub so... idk if you wanna try that. They are releasing a massive expansion next week! ( a couple days after GW2 does)

WoW is awesome and terrible at the same time. Im not gonna get into discussing it cus i'd be here all day, but it has a free trial if you're interested.

FFXIV now has a free trial. i just started trying it myself a couple days ago. it's... "Meh" not sure if it's my thing. However i do love the controller support.

ESO is f2p.. after you buy it. Great game overall. But, i can't help but shake this bland, gloomy, boring feeling. Dunno why it has all the elements of a good mmo... but even the armor sets are just.. dull.

I hear great things about Rift and i tried it very briefly. I didn't play long enough to get a strong opinion but it seems worthwhile. Props for it surviving so long.

Tera. Looks great. Has controller support and is quite fun! until after you leave noob island... not gonna get into it now but Msg me if u want details.

Warframe is awesome. But it's not openworld and if you aren't willing to pay any money you're in for quite a grind for cool gear. But it's a very fun, polished shiny fast pace mmo.

Marvel Heroes 2015 is awesome, Free to PLay game. particularly if you're a comic fan. It's Diablo style and now has about 50 heroes to choose with many costumes for each. With a new hero every month and constantly new power-ups and content being added. the balancing is IFFY though so 1/3 of the roster is hardly isn't playable end-game. And PVP is a Joke. It's tons of fun but can run out of steam pretty quickly IMO. Hard to really enjoy a game like this for more than a month or 2 in my opinion. But i've never played with friends or a guild so that maybe what i was missing. But Diablo style RPG's are kind of repetitive in nature.

Runescape is free. And it was WoW like a decade before WoW.. the fact that it's survived this long says something about it's charm. Not quite my cup of tea but there's tons to do. a lot of content and many dedicated players.

That's pretty much all i'm tracking as far as current MMO's go. There are lots more out there though.
