I believe the Shinju doesn't just suck out chakra, but the persons very soul. The zetsu are merely the animated corpse of the once human manipulated by the controllers chakra. Like some sort of monster or something lol.

BZ isn't really a Zetsu btw, he just was stuck to one for that time, he is really just the essence of kaguya meaning he also doesn't have a soul.

Meaning all those in IT will turn into Zetsus.

Zetsus have a Life Force so they have a Soul. We know they have a life force because they can use Mokuton which actually requires life force to use.

Also they are not effected by IT because they are a product of IT.
