Why Yamato is getting so much coverage in this filler series

Something hit me a couple weeks back that I hadn't realised until I watched this filler series.
There's a massive parallel between both Kakashi and Yamato. They're both ANBU members who have no family and have lost someone important to them. And also, they both contain the kekkei genkai of the two major leaf village clans; Yamato has mokutun, and Kakashi has the sharingan. They're both kind of (fake) versions of the Elder and Younger son lol.

This probably explains why Yamato is getting so much screentime in this filler series.
(Sorry if this was obvious, but it was something I noticed before I joined NB, so I couldn't post about it)

As much as I disagree with this filler arc and it's timing in the anime that is some seriously interesting symbolism. Nice one buddy I never even thought of the Sharingan/Wood comparison.

Might have to give this arc a rewatch after all.

It's kind of interesting how they both possess a trademark power from one of the two legendary clans without actually being from that heritage...

I think there are two major reasons Yamato gets so much coverage.

1) There wasn't much information about him in the main plot to begin with, so he is a good candidate to add additional content to.

2) As he is most likely that gyu inside the Spiral Zetsu, he will play a much more prominent role in the upoming chapters, and his inclusion in this filler arc serves as a little buildup to that.
