Why would they let Buggy join the shichibukai after finding out he was part of Roger's crew? The world government gave Tom a death sentence for building Oro Jackson and went as far as making sure Roger's bloodline was discontinued. The world govt also believes Buggy to be the mastermind behind the impel down jail break which released several level 6 criminals free into the world. Pardoning him and allowing him to join the shikibukai is insane!!!

It would have made more sense for them to have invited Luffy since his crimes aren't as great as Buggy's "history" and he's grandson of Garp the Hero.

Intimadate pirates Duh hes on roger most famous crew automatically earn you respect and fear from other pirates. Then he know SHANKs a yonkou strongest pirates in One Piece. Then he had all those escaped prisoners so it was easy snatch IMO plus they can easily take him out without a problem unlike the other uber tier ones like Mihawk

It's because Buggy is a popular pirate, he's a liar yes...weak 'maybe'.

The important thing when it comes to being a warlord is that they are respected.

He escaped impel down and his crew has many ex level 4 prisoners. Buggy would certainly be suited for Shichibukai if he developed Haki during the time skip.

They know Buggy's piss weak in relation to the NW. But when it comes to crew power & size, he is rollin'. Hence they realize he is a great asset to them + they knew he wouldn't refuse the offer. Furthermore, there were 4 Warlords left after the 'War of the Best', meaning they had to get 3 more - and quick. Thus Buggy was a suffice option.

It would make sense for Luffy? Wtf? LOL, they know hes the biological son of Dragon.... why would they let the son of the world's dangerous criminal become shichibukai.

The reason is much simpler. The World Government aren't stupid. Buggy was tied with the same rep, world wide, as Luffy: Breaking out hundreds of convicts from Impel Down, Invading Marineford, causing chaos and be tied to a Figure of renown, as well as having a great deal of influence over a great amount of people. Yet Buggy is easily manipulated, not very strong, and his plans do not mess with the WG's own.

Luffy is a loose string and a liability. Not only it is known he would never accept the role of Shichibunkai, his plans often go against the WG itself, and he's terribly close of the Void Century's truth. It would make sense to "control" the son of Dragon, but Luffy has show time and time again he isn't controllable. Yet, regardless of everything, Luffy disappeared, so there was no way for the WG to contact him with the invitation.

Its because despite being on the Gol D Roger ship. He has influence over others. He may be weak but he can surely talk a lot and intimidate people.

We still don't know if he has grown stronger but you must remember shichibukai are used for scaring other pirates with their reputation.

Why doesn't luffy get the position? 1st off, he was belived to have died after the war when the invitation was given. And the 2 yrs that he was training. The other two positions were given away as well.

+ Luffy is Dragons son & he is uncontrolloable U_U . Also, storyline ruined if Luffy became a shichibukai
