Why would Nagato protect Yahiko's body?

Wow there are some far reaching theories out there, yet nobody has bothered to cover the most basic theory of them all. What about the fact that 'The Real One' just wanted to protect Yahiko's body?

He could still have some sentimental connection to Yahiko, especially if the one controlling the bodies is Nagato. OR 'Real One' knows that God Realm is the strongest, and his invasion would fail without it's powers and ability.

I'm not saying that God Realm isn't the key to defeating Pein. I'm saying that I believe either the real Pein simply protected his strongest weapon, or Nagato protected Yahiko's body, or probably both.

i think the real pain is the god realm one but there is one main person who is not being shown thats controlling all of them!?????

We do know for a fact that -someone- is controlling them behind the scenes, unless Kishimoto decides to make Jiraya's dying message false and a completely useless bit of information.

As for the real Pein being the God Realm, then you're basically saying that someone is controlling a Rinnegan user. "God Realm" along with the other 5 of the "6 Paths" is a power given by the Rinnegan, so if the real Pein gave himself the power of the God Realm, then he is the Rinnegan user.. and if someone is controlling all 6 of them behind the scenes even though the Rinnegan user is on the battlefield, then someone is controlling they guy with Rinnegan.... which seems unlikely to say the least.

There is an obvious connection.
Nagato admired Yahiko, he admired Yahiko's fearlessness and resolve, and wished to be like him.
It seems obvious that Nagato's ''avatar'' of choice [God Realm/Yahiko] would be the person he admired most.
I don't know, it's all strange, there's a deeper meaning to it all, we just don't know it.

if it was so then why was it said in the legends that there is only one child whith rinnegan and it was first spotted in nagato, at age of 10 nagato mastered all 5 elements, and was master of almost all jutsu's,
and according to jiriyas information all six are the ninjas of some different country, ninjas that he have already faught/met,

also there was a message from jiriya that the real one wasnt here,

and lately it has been found in the autopsy when pain arrived that the piercings control the body like it has been controlled by a remote controller,

so what i think is nagato is the guy who is hiding behind the tree and controlling the puppets.........

at the begining i thought so too, but the more i think about that, the stranger it appears to me.
he defends himself the whole time, after the first chidori attack he doesn't even fight on short distance, though he had a sword at the beginning, which disappears after the first shockwave and he easily evaded the first chidori. he revives his other body but instead of using him to kill kakashi or so. else from behind, he doesn't use him till he needs a shield. even if nagato doesn't want yahiko's body to die, god realm fights as defensive as if he were hurt and feared his enemy to death.
So i think there is more than just a sympathie for the dead yahiko. think of konan. when she was captured by jira jiraja could 've burned her to ashes thousand times. He even takes her with him to konoha and separates from her, which is a great risk if you think of the easiness jiraja beat her. nearly every katon could kill her directly, a suiton could immobile her completely as jiraja's oil did.
i think more that it goes in the direction of what somebody sayed earlier. there is the possibility that yahiko took nagato's eyes (or fights for nagato). demi-god-realm (the one who died 2 times against jiraja) and yahiko had extremely similiar opinions. and the extremely defensive position of god realm is another clue that it could be this way. and the founder is called as the "sage of the six paths" whereas god-realm is talking about 6 paths of pain. which makes sense in the way that nagato is out of the pain-circle.
