Why won't anyone tell Naruto who is father was?

I have been thinking about this for a while...

If Pain is coming to Konoha, and same with Sasuke... they are probably going to be killing off all the older shinobi.

These are the people that know that Naruto is the 4ths son. BUT Not everyone knows this though! Remember that the villagers only knew of Naruto as the 9-Tails, but didn't know that he was the 4ths son. Otherwise they would have treated him like a king.

What was the reason for hiding this truth? Was it because someone would try HARDER to capture Naruto?

I can see the benefit to him not knowing... if he doesn't have a family that is remembered... the only family he has IS the Leaf Village... but at some point Naruto WILL want to know who his parents are... I'm wondering why he has NEVER asked anyone about it...

maybe its 4 narutos own good he doesn't know the fourths his father. it would be a blow to his psyche that the one who sealed the fox in him was his own father even though his father wanted him to be seen as a hero 4 containing the fox. would be liek when vader told luke he was his father kinda blow to his psyche.

This almost makes it seem like Naruto subconsciously knows there is a connection between he and the 4th. Just was reminded of it by this thread, it's interesting because hints are dropped throughout the manga that the two share a striking resemblance etc, just don't know whether or not Naruto is aware of them when the reader clearly is.

As fa as why nobody has told him, I think it's for all the reasons you mentioned, it allowed Naruto to earn his way through the ranks rather than be given everything. Also is avoided having a target on his forehead from enemies of the 4th and of Konoha.

Hope he finds out for sure soon from Fuka.

i think there is a big conspiracy a foot because no seems to want to tell naruto about his heritage. there is a big conspiracy of what actually happen the night the kyuubi attack and the sealing process and what happen to kushina. i think so because kishi has kept it a secrete i think something big will be found out when naruto finds about his parents.

ok so... more than just the older villiage shinobi know about naruto's father
for one... the Frog on the Scroll knows...
and.. Fukusaku probably does...

but on top of that... there must be a record of everyones heritage in the villiage's documents...

so.. if he ever becomes hokage he could probably just check it himself...

No one knew Minato and his wishes for Naruto more than Jiraiya. I think that during the three years he spent with Jiraiya (his godfather), Jiraiya treated and taught him as his own grandson. I think Jiraiya also felt duty bound to teach Naruto what he could of Minato's techniques. Naruto summons toads, uses Rasengan, etc.

In these forums we talk about the difference it makes in the Konoha ninja's life to live in clans/families for their development (Neji...). As much as he could I believe Naruto is following in their foot steps especially now that he's learning senjutsu. When Jiraiya died, he realized he had done right, and his last thoughts were of Naruto and not just because he's the destined child.

While the elders may know about the fourth and the secret of the sealing of the nine-tails, who will tell the truth unbiased? Danzou, the two elders, Kakashi, Tsunade, or Fukasaku? Kakashi knew him as his sensei. Tsunade knew him as a friend, and Fukasaku may have known of him as his student (that's speculation as it seems only Jiraiya and Naruto have undergone senjutsu training). The story of the fourth will be told from many different angles and like Sasuke, Naruto will have to assemble the truth for himself.
