Well...he essentially already did. Nao.... Itachi had every intention of stopping the one behind the Edo Tensei alone. It just so happened Sasuke followed him. Also...Itachi was not trying to kill...actually Itachi ended the fight the first time he stabbed him imo. As Izanami was prepared... I feel Itachi was trying to make Kabuto accept himself before activating Izanami. Also...he had to protect and guide Sasuke...making sure he didn't kill Kabuto.

Either way you slice it, it will go down in Naruto history that either Itachi beat Kabuto and stopped Edo Tensei, or Itachi with the help of Sasuke beat Kabuto and then Itachi stopped Edo Tensei as far as the majority goes...it's just the way it is unfortunately for some.

Yata Mirror cannot block sound genjutsu? If he has the Yata Mirror up and can hear people, then he will sucumb to the effects of the genjutsu.
