No.. King Cold refers to him as his son. Yes, the androids were A LOT stronger than Mecha Frieza. Almost 8x as strong to be specific. And Super Saiyan wasn't enough to beat them, but Super Saiyan 2 was WAYYYYY more than enough. Actually, after Piccolo fused with Kami, he became stronger than a Super Saiyan. It's a lot of hype, but it did topple Frieza who ruled over most of their universe.

They are completely robotic. They were designed specifically to kill Goku. Dr. Gero (or Android 20) had information on how fast Goku gains power and modified these androids to topple a level of strength that he thought Goku could never achieve. They were suppose to be stronger than a Super Saiyan. Frieza, however, was already weak so some robotic modifications didn't really boost his power any.

Mecha Frieza was in 2% and King Cold was in his second form. That means via powerscaling, mecha frieza @ 100% is only slightly under Android 17 and 18, while 100% king cold is Super Piccolo to Android 16 level.

The Androids were created by a genius known as Dr. Gero, they were perfectly designed to take down Goku, and that's why a SSJ was nothing to them and know one could touch them at that time. The Androids had files on all the Z-Fighters. The technology that King Cold used to repair Frieza was far less advanced to Dr. Gero's technology. It's all because of the mastermind Dr. Gero, that's why the Androids are stronger. Plain and simple.

Invalid. Meta-Cooler is on the same level as the Androids. Both characters easily beat a SSJ, and Meta-Cooler is even above the Androids due to the Big Gete Star.
