He unfortunately got next to no progression a few new moves, usualy one shots and no 1v1 fight like him s Kidomaru.
Obviously he should be significant stronger than in part 1, training with Hiashi learning all the hyuga abilities to their fullest. Him vs Kakazu with Hearts inside his body and Domu would have been boss.

No time... Naruto was a miserable side-character in early Shippuden, and by the time Kishi decided to fix Naruto and make him feel like a main character, he also had to find time to develop Sasuke. Then the plot demanded a LOT of new characters as the story moved past the Kage Summit, so there was no time for real focus on Rock Lee / Neji, etc...

If Kishi hadn't wasted so many volumes in part 2 with that miserable Sai arc, and maybe sped up the Rescue Gaara arc, there would have been time to develop Neji... Unfortunately, Kishi didn't hit his stride until Jiraiya vs Pain, and then the plot moved too quickly.

I like this^ I feel it accurately portrays why Neji didn't get the screen/panel time he should have IMO. which is a shame. Back in part I he and Gaara were among my favs. Gaara still is, but poor Neji got left behind then murdered by Kishi :(

I also wish the Byokugan played a more relevant role in the series as well. Once MS was introduced, the Hyuga's became a relic of the past. a shame.

Look at y'all running your mouth... Neji and Hyuga are completely irrelevant in part 2, and it ain't nobody's fault, so deal with it U_U

Well you know Kishi just forget Hyuuga Clan at all... 2nd strongest clan in Leaf according to 1st series. But in Shippuuden only Uchiha & Senju ... Sad part is they are not even alive. Kishi could use Hyuugas too many times imo. But Who cares, He got some bunch of sharingan guy and senju dna modified shinobis. It's what you need ^^

Byakugan is irrelevant. And as such the need for hyuuga disappears.

@Amazeballs
Kishi hit his stride with kidan and kakazu.From there to the war arc this manga was beast. Then war arc started and it went down hill.
