Why was Neji so Underrated and Underappreciated?

Seriously..1st 50 episode of part 1, he was more badass than Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara combined. And then naruto "frees him" and part 2 comes and, while still awesome and a jonin, he was still underapreciated. He always had more natural potential than any of the konoha 12, including Sasuke. ALSO..why was the byakugan so disrespected. Wasn't the sharingan an evolution of the byakugan?

Because he had no time to be shown so no one knew his strength really and I think it's a little bit of a stretch to say he had a better potential than both Naruto and Sasuke he was good but I think your overrating him a little.

If Sharingan is an evolution of Byakugan, that would give it and the user more potential than a Byakugan user so I don't get your point there.

Neji never had more potential than Sasuke. This is apparent because Neji pales in comparison to even Itachi-Fight Sasuke.

Why would Kishi make the focus about minor side characters when the story is about Naruto, Sasuke, and the Sharingan? Kishi isn't a bad writer, butthurt fanboys of small characters just get mad when he doesn't focus on them, when he shouldn't anyways.

If you write a book about peeling potatoes, you arn't going to talk about peeling carrots.

Not a core character and the way his personality was portrayed.

With a different writer, it wouldn't have been so. I personally appreciate Neji. But even more than him, I'd say Rock Lee is neglected.

No he didn't and that was very disappointing. I mean you hardly saw him at all in Shippuden and the next thing you know he's dead. I was like, really? He was one of my favorites! They should have killed Ten Ten instead, she's pretty much useless.

Neji was underated because there was not enough screen time for him and he didn't really develop as a character past a certain point in the series!

Well yes, Sasuke IS better than Itachi, but I was talking about how Neji in his prime doesn't even compare to Sasuke during his fight with Itachi.

Because of lack of screen time; Kishi trolled many of the k11; i think he needed beter than what he got in part 2; i still want a Hyuuga deveopment; but i do not expect it so much without Neji; he certainly deserved progression; Hinata is not better than him just because she is the part of the main family; she won't fill his place on that department in my opinion.

Maybe i used the wrong wording, but i think Neji was, i guess the most naturally gifted of the konoha 11..I mean Kakashi sensei praised him as one of the best genin in history (dont quote me on that, but im pretty positive) I just hate to see a character who was so good, not get enough respect because the author decided to focus soly on 2 guys from part II on.. That goes for the rest of the konoha 11, Kiba, Shikamaru, Shino i think all deserve more recongnition

What is Kishi supposed to do? Give each character an entire arc?

That's ridiculous.

Kishi focuses mainly on Naruto and Sasuke- because they are the main characters. And other characters like Chouji and Shikamaru HAVE gotten their own episodes and such before, so I don't know why you're complaining.

im not saying give each of them their own arc, im saying they should look as powerful as they are. Mainly Kiba, Shino, Neji, and to a certain extent, Lee. Naruto is the main focus with sasuke being his foil. What im saying is that some of the main supporting characters aren't made to look like strong enough supporting characters. However that is just my personal opinion

Personally I think that neji is really bad ass with his byakugan and everything. I think that kishi should at least show more of the other characters than just the same old sakura naruto kakashi and sasuke(not that i don't like them) but I know the anime naruto is based around the kid naruto but come on give the spotlight to the other characters to like Neji or Hinat,Kiba, Gaara ect...
