Why was Naruto sent on missions?

Lee did learn a bunch of stuff by just staying in the village and practicing his taijutsu.
He doesn't necessarely have to test his rasen shuriken on an opponent for it to be strong and complete.

Oh please. Don't compare him to Lee, who can't even use ninjutsu.

And well he can master his rasen shuriken or any jutsu, but it's not enough in a battle. What about strategy and logical thinking? ... it's not all about brute force. I think we learned that in part 1, when all he did was rush in with all his clones without any logical planning and then get his ass kicked.

Who cares if he can't use ninjutsu? This is not the point and him not knowing how to use ninjutsu isn't due to the fact that he isn't leaving the village but due to the fact that he can't control his chakra properly.

Still it doesn't change the fact that going out on missions with some fodder ninja is dangerous.

That's what I'm saying. You can't get stronger unless you go out there and fight instead of hiding in the village.
True, but not every mission is about fighting. :)

Some of them involve:
• Courier of documents, papers, packages, etc.
• Background investigations or capturing criminals.
• Guarding important people or spying.
• Odd jobs or random duties.

But yes, most missions does involve fighting.

Why are you bringing Lee into this anyway? And who do you consider more experienced than Kakashi and one of the Sannin? Naruto was trained by the best in Konoha, but that doesn't matter. The fights he went through served for him to gain more experience, to mature and make his bonds. This is about his own personal growth, and how different things he experienced along the way affected his motivation and personality in the long run.

By the way, if they kept him in the village through the entire series than everyone would bitch about how the main character doesn't get any character development. That's just ridiculous.

Lol dude, where did I say him being with Jiraiya isn't safe?
Seeing how Kakashi got trapped in Zabuza's water prison so easily I doubt that was a good idea, just saying.
Chasing after Sasuke was obviously the stupidest idea, he still think and behave like a kid and Tsunade allows him risking his life doing stupid stuff.

No it's just about common sense. Kishi could have put it another way so it still makes sense for Naruto to risk his life like that.

You said he needed more experienced ninja by his side. Why would he need them if he was safe with Jiraiya?
And he may be a bit obsessive over Sasuke, but what's stupid in wanting to save your friends? If he doesn't fight for the people he cares about, then what is he fighting for?

Danzo didn't want him to go on missions. But Naruto was always close with the Hokage's so they didn't want to treat him any different, just because he was a Jin.

You know how he is. They could never really stop him. He wanted to join the war, broke the barriers, stopped listening to everyone... that's just Naruto.

If they would have sealed him away from childhood on, he wouldn't have gotten all his experience in battle. He'd be very weak now. To be a military force, you need alot of experience I think, and he has that now. Plus his unbroken will to defend the village makes him way more useful.

I never denied the fact that he was safe with Jiraiya. Why are you even talking about Jiraiya? He's not always with Jiraiya, Naruto was sent doing stupid things even before Jiraiya was introduced.
Let me remind you Naruto got initially sent on mission with some fodder chunnins to rescue Sasuke. How stupid is that?
Same with the mission where he fought Zabuza, only Kakashi was experienced here and still got owned by Zabuza.

Well, if he stayed in the village he wouldn't get acknowledged by the villagers and everyone would still be hating him. So what, in your opinion, would he be fighting and risking his life for?

Lol it's not Naruto's responsability to take these decisions, he's just a kid that obviously don't know what he's doing. Tsunade is the one to blame.

Are you kidding me? Let me remind you what the point of your thread is - Naruto isn't safe outside the village.

So now you say he was safe with Jiraiya. Change of opinion?

Hahahah, I love how you're putting words in my mouth, where did I say that?
Let me quote one of my previous post because you seem a bit lost

Seriously? All of Naruto's training were in a safe place. Ex: Sage mode, Rasen shuriken, the time-skip with Jiraiya etc..
He didn't have to risk his life to get stronger like when he went on his first mission against Zabuza or when he went to rescue Sasuke with some fodder chunnins.

I actually never denied the fact that he was safe with Jiraiya. You obviously don't comprehend this thread.

Dear God. You just don't get it, do you? ... well please elaborate on how you imagine the story with Naruto safe and sound in the village, without getting sent on any missions?

Omg it's true, you really can't read after all... that is quite sad.

It's not my job to create a story that makes sense, Am I the author of this manga kid? Not really my name is not Masashi Kishimoto

Rofl, I'm going to sleep now.

So you can't give an answer, huh? That's cause you're not making any sense here.

You wouldn't have the story if Naruto wasn't allowed to leave the village. He would remain an ignorant and hated kid that he was in the beginning, and all the people he's ever met up with would be the same characters from part 1. Like Gaara, for example. Zero development. That's pretty sad.

Bottom line - thank God you're not an author. lol
