Why was Naruto praising Obito?

Naruto's character worries me when It comes to Obito and his bullsh*t

And also, Naruto is simply a forgiving guy, always has been. Even back when Haku 'killed'' Sasuke. I don't read a lot of manga outside of Naruto, but when I think back to dbz, Goku also befriended Vegeta who tried to kill him once.

Forgiving is one thing. But calling him the coolest or most awesome is just pathetic.
