Why was Nagato referred as a God but Madara wasnt?

Nagato had Madara's Rinnegan and as Pain he was referred to as God but why hasnt Madara been called God before? I mean even Hiruzen is known as the God of Shinobi so how come Madara was never given that alias? His strength alone is already legendary but i dont think he gets the respect he deserves

Great answer i totally agree But i do think Kamui helped Obito's case that he was Madara because without intel Kamui can make anybody seem godly which is the case during the Kage Summit Arc

He brought blessings to the people of Amagekure, and singlehandedly flattened Amagekure that 5 Nations couldn't do. Now that's how you describe a demi-God.

Because Rinnegan paths are based upon the six Buddhist Paths of Reincarnation.

Tbh all Rinnegan users could be referred as a god, because Rinnegan grants a godlike powers, although only Nagato utilized all of them.
