Why was Madara so comically overpowered?

Madara was a God long before he ever took Hashi's DNA. EMS Madara is still leagues stronger than every single Shinobi that lived after Hashirama all the way until Sasuke and Naruto received a free power up from Hagoromo. Even when he achieved the Rinnegan and acquired Hashi's DNA, it wasn't handed to him. He saw something he wanted in the world, and with his own power he took it by force and made it his own.

Naruto > Madara
Ems Sasuke = Ems Madara
Rinnegan Madara was pretty much fodder since he was life support the entire time. Im talking about the real Madara before his second death. After that it was all Kabuto enhancements Hashirama cells and gedo mazo. It made him look stronger than he actually was. He was good but not a god. He's the embodiment of the outer path seeking peace through power
