It wasn't Amaterasu, and he used FTG.

It was always used on powerful ninja like raikage, danzo, Obito etc... of course the average shinobi would get low-med diff though

But then, the basic fireball jutsu (phoenix fire, dragon flame, magnificent fire, blast wave dance) is enough to neg your average shinobi.

Amaterasu and Enton are Uchiha exclusives only because nearly everyone else can perform the fireball jutsu. Anko, Kakashi, Hiruzen, Jiraiya, even Iruka. Amaterasu's inextinguishable black flames and increased power makes it unique. When an attack that is said to be inextinguishable and inescapable, it was only a matter of time before Kishi destroyed their hype. The same way Kishi nerfed and negged Neji and Gaara's total defenses back in Part 1 during the Chunin exams.

Thought he warped/swaped with Obito at the last second, didn't think Minato got hit by the combo (he was just extremely close).

The jutsu pushed minato backwards, it did hit him.

It's a strange jutsu though, if you read the databook description of FTG swap, it says something along the lines of the damage is transferred to the enemy or something like that.

That's broken...you can kill someone with his/her own jutsu.

He wasnt burned because he got out in time, and then teleported.
