Oh wait, he did nothing. He showed up, Went Bankai, then failed to do anything. And now we're back to Toshiro as our main good guy for the fight.

I think he was more effective during the Pernida fight.

It was Gremmy's body that couldn't hold the power...he tried to become a monster but he never prepared his body for it..i am not sure if he was trying to accomodate kenpachi's power in his body.....i think he just couldn't withstand that power without making his body stronger

more like contradictory......if this were the case then i think Ichigo would have been the first one to get his body torn up by the reiatsu........he is supposed to have twice of a captain's reiatsu.....or Kubo is saying that physically Ichigo is stronger than Kenpachi

Ichigo had similar problems when he first got Bankai. He was being overcome by his own power, and Bakuya used that to wreck him. I suppose the difference here is that Ichigo had trained for Bankai, while Kenpachi just had it thrown at him. Also, Kenpachi is obviously dealing with much more power.

The "twice as much as a captain" means very little since Kenpachi is obviously not an ordinary Captain level.

i know that Kenpachi is in a league of his own......but just remember Ichigo's reiatsu in final form...it was even greater than Aizen's....Ichigo trained for Bankai...are you kidding....in 2.5 days training he got the bankai..that won't just miraculously cut the physical requirements....also Kenpachi has been a captain for how many years exactly..........? i am just surprised that it was depicted in this way that Kenpachi can't control his power..especially that his body can't handle it............we have seen him manhandling espadas.....deflecting cero with his bare hands.......

In fairness, i didn't know he could teleport.

(He seriously did, he was falling off the wharwalt when Kenpachi cut him in half, and next chapter he's on top of the wharwalt. He's got plot armour almost as thick as Lille Barro, topped off with seemingly limitless regeneration and a simple ability. That's the perfect recipe for a character i hate.)
