Why was Itachi brainwashed by the Senju clan?

Why did he betray his clan when they have been oppressed forever for the sake of Hidden Leaf not going into full blown war with itself that could lead outsiders to attack the village at it's weakest.

I could never kill my family, friends, and village because for the country's sake, but Itachi must be one bad mofo.

when he was younger he experienced what the war did making him a pacifist...so he was aware of the war that could break in the village so he did wat he had to in order to prevent it from happening again

He wasnt brainwashed, he was forced. I am not sure about the whole story, but he killed everyone in the uchiha clan, except for Madara Uchiha (Who helped) and Sasuke Uchiha. Itachi wanted Sasuke to grow stronger, but he would know that if he had no goal, he wouldnt want to get stronger. So killing everyone except him made Sasuke want to get strong enough to kill Itachi.

I think Itachi wanted Sasuke to unlock his Mangekyo Sharingan so when Itachi dies, Itachi wanted Sasuke to transplant his MS to unlock the EMS. If not, the otherway around, so Itachi/Sasuke could kill Madara. However, Orochimaru interfering and giving sasuke the Curse Mark, Sasuke turned to the dark side, and wanted to crush Konoha instead of Saving it.

The Uchiha & Senju both wanted dominant influence over the village, neither of them were wrong. The difference is that Uchiha wanted their way with war, whereas the Senju oppressed the Uchiha then after a while wanted to settle things with negotiations, which they should have knew would cause drama.

Thats what I think

Itachi's goals were completely different from what took place. He wanted Sasuke to return to Konoha a hero for killing him, and he was anticipating Madara to try telling Sasuke the truth so he placed instant Amaterasu whenever Sasuke saw Madara.

Well i understand were supa is coming from.Itachi was sort of brain washed but the only reason the uchiha were opress was basically after the 9 tails attack.That's why they set up a coup after being under watch,as we can see that really was'nt a good idea because now there is a much higher scale waring going on then what would of been in the leaf village.

itachi did those things to maintain peace in konoha......it was because of him that the akatsuki didn't attack konoha in the first place...only after his death konoha was targetted.......and itachi didn't kill sasuke because he wanted his brother to become stronger than him and wanted himself to be killed by his brother so that sasuke would be praised as a hero!!!!! what an innocent person
