Why use flashbacks in fillers?

I really don't understand why flashbacks are shown in fillers when much more interesting, unseen or new stories can be shown.
Stories that'll make for good fillers:
Madara/Izuna story more in depth
Sakumo Hatake's last mission
Shisui vs Ao
Jiraiya vs Orochimaru, their 1on1 battle that's never been shown
Background of some Edo: Seven Swordsmen(Mangetsu perhaps), that explosive guy with the spiky hair, young Chiyo etc
Like wtf Kishi?!

Id imagine they wouldnt have the time to spend on thinking of interesting backstories. They only have the time to crap out lame stories.

Kishi doesn't make the fillers, he only write the manga he has nothing to do with the anime and they only show flashbacks in fillers because the animators are lazy as hell, the anime has bad animation and the fillers suck U_U

I agree. Most fillers are just way too fillery. They're usually silly, predictable and not interesting at all.

I really wish they'd show some historical events or just develop characters a bit more - how about seeing how Team Kurenai handles an a-ranked mission?

Kishi must have some involvement he must, like maybe the confirmation of things like characters hair colours and maybe other important things

Yeah and on top of that the manga is not that good anymore, kishi forgot about many great characters and became an uchiha fanboy and almost ruined the series, tbh I only read Naruto now days because there are some fights that I want to see

I'm talking about the fillers... They make the anime suddenly becomes gay when its all fillers, other than that its good. And bleach is consistent because the fillers stay consistent with the story line.

I think there are flashbacks in fillers primarily to connect the story that has no basis to the Manga, back to the actual storyline.....This would be so that these "new" stories, even though irrelevant seem to matter a little more
