Tsunade is Naruto distance relate grandmother and she is Hokage plus a living Senju. She live until now even after surviving Madara due a plot that maybe Kishi think important for Sasuke and Naruto character prior development. Kishi hinted that Sasuke will eradicate all bijuu and kages for his wind of revolution. He wish to become Hokage and current Hokage is still a Senju who trying to save him at first from fallen into darkness. Tsunade will have more chit-chat with Sasuke for proven what Hokage is really about and maybe related her story much more about Orochimaru.
Tsunade is really important for Naruto and she trusted the future to Naruto to become the next Hokage. She wont easily die if not die to important people on important event related with plot development. She hinted by kishimoto to be unable to die in battle and wont die easily but her time will near reach and her death is really relevant for sustain Hashirama principles and to bringing courage for Naruto to continued fight for peace. Tsunade will probably sacrifice herself just like Hiruzen and she doing this for sake of Naruto, Konoha, peace and Ninja world.
Why She need to die according to kishi hint
1 - she is Hokage
2 - she protector of all kages
3 - she is hokage, means she is the most important over 5 nation
4 - She is Hashirama principles even Sasuke respect hashirama but he already conclude his revolution looks like
5 - she is Naruto closes loved one after his parent, team 7 and Jiraiya
6 - she remaining Senju
7 - she is Hokage and legendary strongest Kinochi and will die like hokage or legendary just like hiruzen's
8 - she survive all Madara killing efforts that other Gokage's fails
9 - she is Hokage strong the same level as Hashirama, Tobirama, hiruzen and Minato or Maybe stronger than some
10 - Plot tells why she still in manga either to just only to see naruto/kakashi become hokage or to die fighting sasuke.
her death is necessary for Naruto development and for sasuke to proceed his revolution.
