If they were stronger by and large, he wouldn't have worried about another Madara coming about because the Senju would be able to take care of the problem. Right or wrong?

Wrong, Madara and Hashirama were exceptions who cancelled themselves out essentially. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been stated the Senju were stronger.

What does this have to do with what I said? The Uchiha were a strong clan that were emotionally volatile, that's what the chapter summed up. Being cautionary of them isn't conceding that they're stronger. The fact is the Uchiha and Senju were warring even before Hashirama and Madara came.

Well the uchiha never were able to defeat the senju clan even before hashirama.

Take Hashirama/tobirama and Madara/Izuna away from both sides, you'd just get what happened in cannon, Neither side being able to completely defeat the other.

It was because of Hashirama's power he was able to convince Madara before their time there was no way an Ashura incarnate could do such a thing. In fact black zetsu implied that he's approach both indra and Ashura incarnates for them to want power however he failed. Now Black zetsu would only approach the one in need of it sometimes Ashura other times Indra.
Anyway senju were strong until an Uchiha awoke the sharingan then the only way you could match them was through some unique traits or skills.

Tobirama explained how when an Uchiha knows love, they awaken power that exceeds the Senju. He then goes on to say that there were many Uchiha like this.
