Well, Madara, by summoning the Gedo Mazou, essentially removed the core of the Moon.

Perhaps this is what eventually caused it to fall out of orbit.

The moon has a big hole in it. What fills a hole? I thought we were taught the answer to that across like a hundred chapters.

The moon is falling so that everyone can eat cheese. There will be a never ending amount of cheese in the world of Naruto.

Technically that would make it stay up easier, due to slightly lowered mass.

Anyway, loosing it's core wouldnt do anything to the moon once it was in orbit, since it's own gravity, rather than the CT's gravity, would have kept it together

I have already pointed this out so many times. Although the logic is kinda flawed since no such thing like a gravity core exists in real world. But well its Kishi logic.

Madara summoned the Gedo Mazo a looong time ago. So the moon would have fell already.
