Lately there has been a debate considering the upcoming and (from the looks of it) final movie of Naruto, many also questioning the potential of it being canon or not which I do believe is validated in it's cannocity, considering the man who is carefully directing the movie and is also in charge of the main story writing and conceptual design for the characters would be none other than Masashi Kishimoto himself.
The two main reasons on why this will be taking place after the events of the series is due to Naruto's attire and lack of other characters that were shown in the recent teaser trailer, for the obvious reason of the fact that they cannot be made known yet due to the manga still not being finished which would explains the obscurity.
Back to the attire point that I was trying to make, look carefully at the two components of Naruto in the teaser, his hand that currently contains the Hagoromo's seal is withheld in bandages while also his headband is strangely longer than what it should be, implying that something will probably happen to him later on in his fight with Kaguya in the current manga chapters.
On another point that I want to make, look carefully at the promotional poster that was made for the movie(once again, designed by Masashi Kishimoto himself) as it show both versions of Naruto, Part 1 and Part 2 with the top part showing a much more matured Naruto that will be shown in the actual film itself. This would imply that this particular movie will signify what would happen after the events of both Parts of the series and will serve as a "Final OVA" to the main franchise of Naruto. This is also strengthened by the fact that this will be officially the 10th OVA and ironically as a means to celebrate the anniversary of Naruto.
