The Gedo Mazou and the Demon

So when Hagoromo and Hamura sealed the Juubi, they probably noticed that the demon was sealed along with Gedo Mazou.


Later, Hagoromo decided to summon the Gedo Mazou and place the Juubi's chakra into it, creating a Juubi without a "soul"

As we all know, on his death bed, he sealed the Gedo Mazou

So in short, the reason Hagoromo sealed the statue twice was to seperate the Demon from the Gedo Mazou

Even though he didn't know that the demon was related to his mother. He probably thought it was the Juubi's soul.

Ever thought of why IT works via the Moon?

Perhaps it's because the Moon Madara used for IT was the same Moon that had the Demon's soul sealed inside it. Once the IT was finished, maybe that broke the seal and allowed the demon to transport into Madara.

You are right OP, however I see another reason behind that action.

I mean initially Gedo Mazou/ Juubi empty husk was sealed in and created the moon.

I doubt that at that time Juubi's chakra took shape of Tailed beasts, it seems it was later when Hagoromo created them by giving them shapes.

Anyway I agree that Gedo Mazou was summoned back from the moon, then Juubi's chakra was placed in it or it somehow fused with Gedo Mazou and was sealed in Hagoromo.
