Why the hell didnt sakura parents become hokge after minato?

In the latest episode, we find out that sakura dad became hokage in an alternate timeline and dies. But in the norm timeline, AFTER MINATO DIED, WHY DIDNT HE BECOME HOKAGE. I RELLY DONT GET IT

plz dont say he wasn't upto minato calliber cos Minato would hv been around his age when that happened and he was chosen, which means he was stronger

Euhm, didn't Sakura's dad become a Hokage in the movie Road to ninja? I would think it strange if that appeared in the anime serie too.
He became Hokage in Road to ninja because that one is an alternate reality. In the 'real' world, he probably wasn't strong enough - heck, I don't know if he's even a shinobi in the real world. (correct me if I'm wrong)
Either way the Third Hokage was the best option after Minato *shrugs*

Yes it was. The episode had nothing to do with the manga at all. It's just there to fill up space, so that the anime doesn't catch up to the manga.

Sakuras parents ARE ninjas. in the main story they are alive. in the movie's alternative universe, they're dead.

the last episode WASN'T a filler it was a preview to the new film!!!!!!!
