Now that 660 has finally come out in Japan (and America for those who read Viz), 661 could come out any day this week or the next. But I think I still have time to present a new theory to think about.
Remember how Kisame explained that the Gedo Mazo is so fragile, the Akatsuki leaders decided that the Ninetails would be sealed last?
There is a possibility that this could be a chekov's gun -- the fact that the statue has this particular weakness -- or just a convenient device for explaining why Naruto was left alone until last. Deidara did go after him, but only opportunistically.
Here are the important points of my theory:

Here are the important points of my theory:
- If Kurama was indeed extracted, he can independently try to force-feed himself to the Gedo Mazo out of order to it absorbing all of the other beasts first. Forget that Madara has no weaknesses. Target the components he needs for his plan to happen.
- Gyuki chopped off a piece of his own tentacle. Maybe Gyuki has the same idea. Since he hasn't been extracted, performing the same maneuver alongside Kurama would drag Killer Bee to his doom. So he's going to settle for a piece of himself instead.
- Kurama's message to Gaara could possibly be to try to make absolutely sure that Shukaku does not get absorbed first. This makes sense, since Shukaku is a tailed beast that is early in line to get absorbed, and the only tailed beast in a position to delay Madara's progress.
