That's why (Kishi interview with Oda):

Oda: Was that the most difficult period for you while working on Naruto?

Kishimoto: No, that was probably the very end. The final chapter was in color, so I had to start on that really early. And because they'd already decided which issue it was going to run in, I had to pace the story fit that schedule. But the closer I got to the final chapter, the more I felt like I was running out of space to wrap things up. Normally, I could just carry a story over into the next issue, but now I couldn't get away with it. Honestly, there were times I thought I was done for.[laughter]

The accelerated sharply during the last 15 chapters was not only an impression, the feeling was exactly that Kishi was not telling the story with the usual pace, indeed seemed that he was leaving out many things and in fact he himself says that he had to find a compromise since the editor had given him a "deadline".

Surely if he had his time and no pressure would not have "cut" the final battle with Madara.

Yeah, but he sure did cram the 11 chapter Kauya arc filler in there after Madara was nerfed. Only to be followed up by the 5 chapter Naruto vs Sasuke fight, with a good portion of those 5 chapters being dialogue.

Of course it was shit, Black Zetsu being Kaguya's will and manipulating everything didn't make sense.

It made sense tbh. BZ was the one at VOTE watching Madara and Hashirama fight, Kishi planted that seed long ago probably as a failsafe.

Only Kishimoto himself knows how he wanted to end the Manga but BZ being the main villain and the ultimate conspirator was class.

Yeah, ****ing shounen jump..

Though I still think Naruto vs Sasuke was one of the best thing in the manga as a whole. But there was still many things could have been addressed better in a mini arc before the time skip ending.

The manga had lost its luster far before the final fifteen chapters, so unless Kishi was on that much of a rushed clock for several years, I wouldn't blame it on this.

This might excuse kishi for his poor last chapter but doesn't explain then why he added a kaguya arc instead of just finishing off madara in 5 more chapters or so
