As seen in this image , genjutsu doesn't need direct eye contact .Whenever they look at the Sharingan , they get caught in genjutsu . (eyes closed or open doesn't matter , just a look is enough)

last time I checked who were the original wielders of byakugan?...also nobody is stopping you from using sasuke itachi obito madara or sasuke...as long as you have no problems with people using the otsutsuki (original byakugan wielders)
