As we know after absorbing the juubi the Sage went around teaching ninjutsu and explaining chakra. Why???
Is it possible that the Sage's original way of achieving peace was to go around teaching the shinobi sect and ninjutsu to people that were oppressed?

Seeing how it seemed that the Sage was confused about the way to obtain peace at first (older/ younger son dilemma) this makes sense. This would explain why he thought his eyes would be essential to world peace at first.
I don't think he took into account mankind's heart in the beginning and at the time purely placed faith in ninjutsu.

The Younger Son probably changed the Sage's view point later on in his life.

Anyway, its just a thought. What do you think?

Probably figured if everyone had the chance to learn Ninjutsu and chakra control, it'll minimize the risk of one of his descendants enslaving the rest of humanity.

Lol... THIS. Quite good reasoning.

Well, in the previous thread we were discussing I put on table the possibility that the Sage choose the Younger Son because Kaguya used force to reach peace and she failed.

You are putting the possibility that he put faith on ninjutsu (power?), that's quite valid too.

They only way I could answer that question would be like rikerslade says, or...

...or he believed ninjutsu could be used as a tool to help people without the ability to use chakra. We have to remember Ninshuu was not the teaching of ninjutsu purely talking, but a religion, a way of life.

Yeah. I think the Sage knew he would end up having to choose a successor and that the one not chosen would go bad(I support the theory he knew the Elder Toad who has visions and he told him this). So, he figured that if the bad one somehow won, then mankind should have some way to defend themselves from him.

Still, I don't remember much morality teaching in Ninshuu. Or any teachings about love either.

He knew that there would be a day when Kishimoto would document all that has happened and wanted to make it interesting to read.

The fact that Hagoromo carried a shakujo (staff with the six rings that was used to signal a monk's presence by the sound of attached rings) means that Kishi probably wanted to portray him as being something akin to a traveling Buddhist monk.

My guess is that Hagoromo's character is based on an Indian prince called Bodhidharma (also known as Daruma Daishi in Japanese), who became an Enlightened Buddhist Master who is credited with reviving Buddhism in China and founding martial arts.

What ever the reason was for Bodhidharma to go around teaching martial arts might also be the reason why Hagoromo went around teaching Ninshuu.

Actually I think it was mentioned that Ninjutsu was originally intended for violence, people just weaponized it after the Sage's death.
