Why so much hostility over your ship ?

Still a bit new to NB in general, but i have to say that something has caught my attention everytime i try looking up for interesting topics on the forum.

The shipping fans, it seems that instead of respecting eachother's opinion on who they ship, most people(from my viewpoint) would instead bash(or in severe cases, personal insults) eachother to the point of it being somewhat immature.

I can honestly see why people would ship Naruto and Sakura, i can also see as well on why they would do the same with Naruto and Hinata, or anyone in particular to be honest, it's their choice after all.

What i can't seem to fathom is when i encounter a certain group of people that would go out of their way to create so much trouble just because another group of people supports another pairing, if this were to be reflected in real life then it would be evident on how ridiculous it actually looks like instead of behaving like civilized people.

Personally in my opinion, i highly doubt Kishimoto will ever allow Naruto to be romantically involved with anyone at the end of the series, Sakura and Hinata will remain pretty much the same as they always have been and after the series comes to a closure, the fans themselves will decide on what happens afterwards. But as i said, that's just me. :O
