No Sakura is smarter, its a manga fact, being Lazy has nothing to do with it, Shikamaru knew the severity of the test. And besides, Shikamaru is just more analytical, but still has shown just about the same feats as him, and besides Shikamaru just have more hype, due to him being able to predict about 100 moves ahead, but when you look back on the Sasori fight, Sakura have done no less.
