Why Sasuke Very Unlikely to Turn Good

I firmly believe that Sasuke will not turn good within the near future. It is extremely unlikely that Sasuke will become a good guy after meeting the one who knows everything. And I will explain my reasoning:

1. Sasuke was created by Kishi for the sole purpose of being Naruto's rival, the idea was a good guy who becomes a bad guy. It would make his character pointless to become a good guy all the sudden.

2. The Naruto vs Sasuke fight which is said by Kishi to be the conclusion of the series is the single most anticipated and hyped fight in the series. If its anything less than a deathmatch then the hype and build up was all for nothing.
And being the final fight if its just a friendly fight that would send the series out on a wimper rather than a bang making the entire Naruto and Sasuke rivalry anti-climatic.

3. Sasuke's entire arsenal was made to balance him out with Naruto and he represents the opposite of Naruto. Sasuke's Susanoo itself looks demonic and his powers are all about destruction. He essentially has bad guy powers. And he is supposed to be even with Naruto, what would be the point if he and Naruto aren't even going to have a serious fight.

4. Itachi said he was leaving Sasuke to Naruto. What would be the point about Itachi saying that Naruto would be the one to change Sasuke from now on if Sasuke just flips to good guy status.

5. During the Five Kage Summit it was established by several characters that Sasuke has passed the point of no return and everyone was saying he needs to die. Sasuke becoming a good guy would defeat the purpose of this as well.

6. Throughout the series Kishi has escalated Sasuke as a villian. He continues to become even more evil and twisted as his hatred grows. If Kishi flips Sasuke to good status so easily then what was the point of him becoming more and more evil.

Conclusion: In the end if Sasuke becomes a good guy just by talking with the one who knows everything it defeats the entire purpose of his character and makes a great deal of the manga pointless.

Its like building up a great movie then the director's throw all the footage away just before it hits theators saying we changed our minds.

its hard for me to agree with you because

1) the way itachi lived is enough to forshadow sasukes change of heart.

2) sometimes a story writes itself. i honestly believe in part 1 itachi was meant to be evil, but in part 2 kishi has change of heart as the story goes in a whole new direction. probably not by plan but more like how would so and so react if bla blah blah.

3) sasuke was never really evil imo he killed oro and danzo for good reason and im sure the whole time hes wanted to take out obito as well. all the bad sasuke did was because he was mind****ed by obito. and now itachi has undone the mind**** and its as if sasuke is back to who he was before he met obito which imo was a good guy but maybe not.

you may be right about sasuke and naruto having to fight all out for our entertainment because if they dont the fanboys will rage but what if sasuke dies like itachi? or and this is think has been heavily forshadowed but sasuke and naruto are like the strongest tagteam wouldnt it be cool to see them fight madara in the climax? jus sayin you cant really complain as long as they both fight even if its against other people than eachother

Honestly, I don't see Sasuke as a "bad guy."

That may be very Naively Naruto of me... but his entire 'avenger' title has been like a carrot held out before a horse. "I'm going to kill my brother for killing my family! ... Now he's dead, I'm going to kill the village that made him into a criminal! ... Uh... I met my should-be-dead brother... I don't know what the hell is going on anymore."

His reasons for hating things - his sole motivator this entire series - are rapidly evaporating and he's in a bit of an identity crisis.

He's less of a bad guy and more of a frantic child who searches for phantasms to kill in a quest for security. He's approaching that point where he is "all alone" (as Kakashi put it), and he will have to find identity in himself.

I have a hard time seeing him become a truly evil person after that. Naruto's already left a mark on him that will be just as persistent as the blonde, himself.

While your are absolutely correct about the foreshadows Kishimoto has been giving about the dark side of Sasuke and him becoming more demonic he also foreshadows enough for people to think the opposite as well. In the Manga it has been emphasis that Naruto's strongest power is not Sage Mode, or even the Nine tails but his power to change ones heart[

This alone shows that enough evidence for it to be argued either way. The manga has also portrayed Sasuke as easily swayed onto any path. The coalition between these two things are great enough to say that Sasuke may give into Naruto. Sasuke is not much of a pure evil and killing machine as many think. Sasuke is still young and is still in his teens. He is just now learning about himself and so far Kishimoto has portrayed Sasuke as more of a child having a temper. This temper along with the Uchiha Clan lineage of hatred is what is making Sasuke's sway to the good side so complicated. Sasuke is only just recently beginning to mature again. The basics around Sasuke is that he had his childhood taken from him and was very mature at a young age. Upon finding out his brother was actually protecting him his childish rage consumed. After speaking with his brother and hearing his view on how Sasuke turned out Sasuke seems to want to mature even beyond his previous years. It was never implied that he would turn good after his conversation with the ones who know everything but it was never implied that solely on Sasuke's decision alone that he wanted to become evil. This is why most see him as a neutral party. Lately, he has been on his conversion into an antagonist but I have notice as a fan of Sasuke that whenever he becomes to good or too evil Kishimoto gives Sasuke a grand shift into the opposite course to put him back on the neutral path and even it out. Sasuke seems to finally be becoming a truly Neutral party but manifesting his own will instead of following others will according to his Dogma. If you don't understand I am arguing it can be either way.

His resolve to destroy the village and avenge his clan is not purely evil, even Naruto admitted it was understandable. Moreover, there have been far more unlikely cases of a change of heart in the series so far, Gaara and Kurama being the two most prominent. The former was a deranged psychopath who claimed his purpose for existence was murder and yet Kishi still gave him a change of heart. Kurama is supposedly the physical manifestation of malevolence and hatred itself yet also undergoes a complete change of heart in the end so there are far more ridiculous precedents.

Although Kishimoto claimed he might culminate the series with a Naruto Vs Sasuke showdown, he did say only if he makes them fight, and he did recently claim that the ending of Naruto is not set in stone (tough he has envisaged an ending). I think at this point it is doubtful that we will have the showdown because however you look at it, the Juubi is the "boss fight" of Naruto if you will. Unless Sasuke somehow gains control of the Juubi or something, I dont see the point of a Naruto Vs Sasuke fight if Naruto defeats the Juubi.

"Saving Sasuke" has been Narutos overarching goal for more than half the manga with him going so far as to claim that he does not deserve to be Hokage if he cant save a friend and even that he would die along with him if they were to fight and he died, I think its extremely unlikely that Sasuke will die an unredeemed villain. However, I believe that it is possible (and probably likely) that Sasuke will die but he will die saving/helping Naruto.

I didn't say Sasuke wouldn't be redeemed. I just said that the One who Knows everything will not be the one to redeem him.

I don't want Sasuke to be a good guy, I like him as a villain.

But if he gets more good inside him, I want him to be anti-hero and just disappear and not attack Konoha despite how much he hates it.
