Susanoo is faster to activate than Amaterasu, not only this but Amaterasu has a limit of range except if you concentrate more to increase the range

Every situation amaterasu is used its always against people that can survive it or avoid it. never used against people that dont stand a chance against it.

Also Amaterasu seems to cause the most strain on the body than any of the other 3 jutsu

Amaterasu is what we call a "broken" technique. It's one of those jutsus you should never have in fiction. Kishi shot himself in the foot with that technique and it will continue to get fodderized and retconned until the end of the series.

Anyways to add onto that, Amaterasu does have a limit to its range as stated by the databook. If it tries to go outside of the range, its speed does decrease, making it easier for someone to dodge. Amaterasu arrow can fly farther and can kill someone on contact as well with the added amaterasu to finish them in case they do survive.
