Why Sasuke closed his eye

Sasuke's eye is god level, so only God level characters (Naruto and Madara) can look at his Rinnegan. Sasuke closed his eye around Kakashi and Sakura because if they look at his eye they will instantly die.

Here is why:

Naruto = Life

Sasuke = Death

That second part is what I've been thinking. Shiva the destoryer has the marks Sasuke and Naruto have. Shiva is known for creation and destruction. Kishi didn't randomly give them those markings.
