Maybe Obito just didn't have enough chakra to maintain the genjutsu without a seal. Either way I doubt there's a way to genjutsu a Biju without having the Jin interfere, hence the need to put the host under genjutsu first, which is impossible for perfect Jins.

Its a sealing jutsu, read the name, doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize it

genjutsu was broken as a side effect of teh contract getting disrupted, genjutsu breaking itself is simple partner method

The real question is. If this was so easy and possible. Than why did Obito and Madara not do it? Also in Bee Vs Sasuke, Sasuke's goal was to capture Bee. Why did he not just genjutsue him and suppress his beast? Like why go through all that hustle when you can so easily do that?

A. naruto was not even going to enter kyubi mode and would have dispelled it himself
B. this can never be used in battle because its quite obvious sasuke had to stand there watching at naruto the whole time
C. naruto can forcebly take chakra from the kyubi even if he is seal/genjutsued/surpressed/high

Also I would like to add. Naruto still has access to Sage mode. Therefore he can still fight without the bijju's
