Why pose as girls on the internet?

Honestly, there are so many people trying to pose as girls on NB,you know who you are.. I just don't get the ideology behind it except the fact they want attention but honestly why do they want that over mere internet.. How exactly would it benefit them? I really would like to hear some opinions. I personally don't like it. U_U​

Yeah I used google image to expose the person I caught. Thing about it is that I would have never found out if they didn't use a girl who lives in the same County as me. I acted like I knew the person too so they ended up confessing it anyway lol
