because he is a showcase character. If he doesn't have a jutsu to stop obito, no one does. Itachi solos, that's kishi's will.
And, honestly, next to madara, itachi most likely knows the most about the uchiha clan. He's the only person we've heard who extensively studied on the ancestors and stuff. If anyone knows a secret to defeating obito it'd be madara or itachi, and we know madara isn't telling SA shit. At best this said thing is his trump card..
