Why Orochimaru has joined the Akatuski-My explanation

I think that Orochimaru has joined the Akatsuki,just only to steal the akatuki's members DNA,and i think that after orochimaru died,kabuto just make the easy work

I read a fanfiction like this once; then the dna was used to make female copies who then left to hang out with their male counter parts and everyone got along. 'Cept Hidan's clone betrayed them for Orochimaru and killed Itachi's, Pein's, and Kakuzu's clone.

Oddly enough, Pein and Kakuzu didn't seem to care.

False, Orochimaru was in Akatsuki before Itachi, it was only after Itachi joined he tried to take his body, failed, left them.

Interesting topic, actually. My guess is it was to obtain information about the sage of the 6 paths, through pain and tobi. Remember what kabuto said about the hypothesis he and oro crafted about the rinnegan? It was thanks to oros time in akatsuki, also he already had senju dna through edo hashirama, thats what was left was his quest for the sharingan, hence his obssession with the uchiha bros.

but Jiraiya told HIruzen/Kakashi that Orochimaru was in THAT organization and Jman followed him since he left le Leaf.
Then he made it a point to say that guy Itachi is one of them.. (as if to say he went after Oro...THEN Itachi joined.
not to mention Itachi/Hiruzen probably knew about Akatsuki because Jman followed Orochimaru .

There is no theory behind it. Orochimaru wanted power, he still wants power, he's always wanted power. He believed that by joining the Akatsuki he could gain even more power, possibly by harvesting DNA from the Akatsuki members or the Jinchuurikis. Or he hoped that he could meet some strong Shinobi which he could experiment on and steal power from (in this case Itachi).
