When Naruto ends about 95% of narutards are going to start watching OP and they will realize how stupid they were for bashing it without backing up their baseless argument.

I am just looking forward to that walk of shame of all these narutards when they join OPB and other OP sites and will have to admit that they were wrong.
I don't know about those 95% you mentioned but i know that me like people are lot more than your averaged percentage that watch Naruto and OP....but still they feel Naruto>OP U_U
no it is not..U_U
it would be good if you could explain why you say that...unless you just wanna create a bias over individual opinionU_U

can’t help but think that HxH is everything that Naruto tried to be and failed monumentally. It is a legitimately good, and well-written shounen, as opposed to gay ninjas and plotarmor: the manga. While it’s true that their paths diverged after a couple hundred chapters, and Kishimoto couldn’t steal any more concepts and ideas from Togashi anymore due to all the hiatuses, some of their early similarities are borderline plagiarism, and the only reason Kishimoto doesn’t get called out on these more often is because he is friends with Togashi, HxH and YYH’s author, and because of Naruto’s inflated popularity in America.

Mind you, Naruto was always bad/mediocre, but it took a nosedive in quality exactly after HxH went on hiatus, leaving Kishimoto without his guiding point. No wonder Part II of Naruto consisted of Sasuke Rescue arcs and fighting old villains again, until Kishimoto finally decided what to write, albeit much too late.

Anyways, these similarities are pretty hard not to notice, and when there’s just too many of them, copied in such a blatant manner, it’s hard to call them just a coincidence. Let’s see:

- Gon’s best friend and rival Killua is a prodigy and very skilled from a prestigious family. He is the same age as Gon but with a more calm, serious and dark attitude. Killua’s nen type is electricity (similar to Sasuke’s lightning). Killua however, always remains a likable character, even outside of lolJapan, and his friendship bonds with the main character are portrayed and emphasized. In return, Gon also goes all out to take Killua away from his own deadly assassin family, Naruto goes all out to retrieve Sasuke from his best friend’s very powerful and dangerous mentor. Also, Killua’s electricity Hatsu is copied to Naruto in the form of Sasuke’s Chidori Nagashi.

- Kurapika is the last survivor of the massacre of the Kuruta clan. He lives for revenge above anything. The Kuruta clan has a special ability called “Scarlet Eyes” their eyes turn red. Kishimoto combined him and Killua to create Sasuke. Halfway through the series however, his troubles are dealt with without the descent into DARKNESS.

- The main protagonist Gon has a father who is a legendary Hunter, but Gon has never met him or his mother. The 4th hokage was also considered legendary and this was present very early in Naruto, and Naruto an orphan. Both series start with the main characters’ childhood where Gon and Naruto are twelve-year old boys

- The concept of special moves are quite similar. While lots of shounen deal with auras and energies, in this case Chakra is a clear adaptation of Nen. Some of the jutsus, like puppetry, summons and elemental properties, are also present in the Chakra concept. Additionally, put a piece of paper in a glass of water and put your hands on top of it in HxH and you find out your Nen Specialization affinity. Do the exact same thing in Naruto and you find out your chakra element.

- Nen training is actual training. Togashi undoubtedly writes some of the best training arcs in all shounen in HxH. This is quite a feat, because those generally suck, and they in fact do suck in Naruto. Chakra training is clapping your hands, using clones to learn faster, fighting your dark persona and swallowing frogs.

- Gon is considered oddly special by most people who meet him. He is a very honest, determined and pure-hearted boy who brings out the good in people he encounters, making them friends. He is gifted with an ability to change people and make them believe in him. Same goes for Naruto, which in part II of the manga goes overboard, on this aspect, leading many to believe he’s being written as a mary-sue.

- Gon Freecs eventually gains 3 friends on his quest to be a hunter while Naruto becomes part of Team 7 in ninja school and also gains 3 friends, the other main characters, in the process.

- Both them have examination arcs, Hunter and Ninja. Both exams have a preliminary phase, where the main characters go through a dangerous forest and are toyed with by a creepy pedo villain (Hisoka/Orochimaru), and a tournament phase, where the characters fight each other, to win the approval of the head figure (Chairman Netero/Third Hokage). HxH, however, has series of intelligent and well-written challenges to test various skills, some of the mental ones are even written to surprise the readers. Naruto at best has a a cheerio’s annual prize race.

- The Phantom Brigade/Genei Ryodan is a band of extremely powerful criminals, similar to Akatsuki, except for the fact that they actually do shit. The leader of Phantom Brigade Chrollo Lucifer has a special nen ability to copy and use any Nen ability no matter what type of Nen it is. The leader of Akatsuki has the special rinnegan which lets him have complete mastery over all types of chakra element. Hisoka, the creepy pedo villain, is part of the Phantom Brigade, but has always had his own secret agenda, and eventually leaves the Phantom Brigade, not unlike Orochimaru and Akatsuki.

- At one point, Gon meets Biscuit, a 50something lady which has developed a technique to make herself always look young (much like Genkai from YYH, also from Togashi), hiding her true appearance. Exactly like Tsunade from Naruto.

"We know almost everything about this world." Really? The knowledge we possess is limited due to our senses and our OWN reality, we know nothing of this world. And one piece is shit.
I agree with the former but utterly disagree with the latter, sure our knowledge is only limited to our senses. It would be pure ignorance to say what we perceive with our senses is all there is.

But you say One Piece is shit? How dare you?
It has much better story, much better comedy, much better characters and character development which is pretty much non-existant in Naruto.

Besides, it doesn´t have any mary sues thank god. You haven´t seen One Piece and if you have then you probably dropped it after the first 5 to 10 episodes. Then how hypocritical is it for you to say that our knowledge is limited but then go and say One piece is shit when you are very limited in your view of it? You haven´t even seen 10% of it and you immediately jump to conclusion? Are you sure you´re using logic?

So according to something you probably googled "why naruto isn't unique" or something which is still extremely opinion based, that automatically means Naruto isn't unique.

There is a thing called inspiration you know, and it's not like every single anime/manga in the world is going to be completely unique. I'd be willing to bet that the author from Space Battleship Yamato got inspiration from another anime.

Actually I don't know why I'm even replying to this, considering it's off-topic. But you know, the thread itself is in the wrong section, so fuck me sideways for all I care.

Regarding the actual thread and what it's about, there are really good points that make it a really good anime. But does that make it the best anime ever? **** no! This only really makes it one of the best anime in the Shounen/Adventure genre.

I agree with the former but utterly disagree with the latter, sure our knowledge is only limited to our senses. It would be pure ignorance to say what we perceive with our senses is all there is.

It's his opinion that pirates going on adventures is a bad idea of a good time. You can't say that jumping to a conclusion is a bad thing, maybe he just doesn't think it's up to his standard.

one piece is currently is the best manga in japan, there is no doubt about that, from sales to rating, artwork, story line and everything, there is no manga out there that can be compare to one piece at the moment..............

So who are you to say he doesn't know anything about it? Maybe he does know about it and thinks it's crap. The point I'm trying to get across is that you can't force your opinion onto other people like it's a fact. This isn't politics.

No one is forcing their opinions, i gave a clear argument to why he is wrong, that isn´t forcing opinion. He didn´t give argument to support his claims and that is why i made my post to politely tell him to shut up.

This post looks very familiar...

One Piece is awesome, Naruto used to be but not anymore.
Tobito? Hahaha wow.
1. well sincerely saying i did not know that.....Kishi published his first manga in 1997 titled as Naruto Pilot which has the similar storyline of the Naruto series now.....

2. Since it was the one shot manga.....Kishi began to do research for his later Naruto series manga

3. Since he were friends with the publisher you mentioned..he ask for their opinion towards his new story which he had developed.....
i don't know who developed the story first but the manga you mentioned is not as rated as Naruto series is.....so this somehow shows who is the original developer.....

4. These are just some opinions when i read the post....U_U
Goodness, you sound like a real Narutard.
Quick question before I reply to your awful quote, Have you even read Naruto Pilot yet??

1. Nowhere near bud. Naruto Pilot was awesome as a One Shot, but it's plot is nowhere near the first few chapters of Naruto. You'd know this if you've read the pilot.

2. One Shots do not have drastic changes like Naruto Pilot to Naruto. There is a huge difference between the two.

3. This right here is just pure bias and ignorance. You're talking about a proven Mangaka that made arguably one of the top ten greatest series in Yu Yu Hakusho only later to come back with an original piece called Hunter x Hunter which Kishi borrowed from and you're talking about how HxH is not as rated "as Naruto" is??
Kishi is friends with many other mangaka, Oda included(why wouldn't he be) but asking someone for input is different from borrowing certain aspects.
Sorry pop your Kishi d_ckriding fantasy, but he wasn't the original here.

4. Leafninja huh, most likely the worst Naruto Fansite online.
Tip: Go read Naruto Pilot, HxH and One Piece.

OP doesn't have these faults like Naruto.
Not saying that OP doesn't have any, it's just some of the concepts in Naruto are evidently not original.

Not saying that OP doesn't have any, it's just some of the concepts in Naruto are evidently not original.

hmm...when did i say that i have not read the naruto pilot and one piece???....i am a great fan of OP.....if i had watched OP earlier than Naruto then it would have been my top manga and anime....Why do i like Naruto more can be a good question but unfortunately i can not describe it.....it just has something that attracts me....may be because naruto character is somewhat like me...i mean his behavior are somewhat like me.....i already said that OP is a great anime and manga...look previous post of mine.....
Now come to the point where i say the Naruto storyline is similar to that of the naruto pilot...similar and same are tow different terms with two meanings....Naruto pilot feature a boy who is not much liked by the people...he is desperate to make friends and later on makes one.....he is desperately trying to prove his existence....these are similar to the story plot of naruto series now....

I am not saying that Kishi has not copy any plots..may be he has or may be he has not, we won't know it personally just because HXH was published earlier... ...i just respect him for giving us this wonderful manga....and it is a human nature to try to defend the person whom you respect....U_U

Lastly i wanna say i am watching OP, have read naruto pilot...but yeah i have not got the chance to read the HXH...that is why i did not know about the earlier post.....i hope you get my point....U_U
