So this is my subjective top fights in the series of Naruto with pros/cons...this will be a long thread so spoilers added of course...also feel free to agree or disagree :bdpf:
1. Neji vs Kidomaru
2. Sasuke vs Deidara

PROS
1. POLAR OPPOSITES...I thought Kishimoto testing Neji (a close combat fighter) with his direct weakness (Kidomaru being a long range fighter) was great...it created suspense while reading and left fans to wonder how Neji would get close to beat his opponent...I thought it was a good idea using polar opposites in a fight of this magnitude because Kishimoto seemed to go with situational fighting rather than compatibility during he fights previous the Sasuke Retrieval Arc.
Also SASUKE RETRIEVAL ARC...the best arc in the series for me...loved all that great character development.
2. Neji wanted to test his abilities...I thought Kishimoto did a great and subtle job of Neji exuding excitement at Kidomaru's abilities (maybe because he thought that he was the only 1 who stood an actual chance of beating him).
3. Good lord THE STRATEGY...it was like reading a Hunter x Hunter fight...the best part of Kishimoto's fighting is his ability to use strategy and logical thinking in his fight sequences...for example:
- Kidomaru dissecting Neji's Byakugan at the speed of light after every single combat sequence dispite never seeing that Dojutsu a day in his life before:
- Neji figuring out what his opponent was doing and turning Kidomaru's genius into predictability:
4. Kidomaru's Cure Mark Level 2 design was ****ing badass :bdpf:
Plus I'm a big fan of archers in fighting series...see Archer in my sig from Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works :bdpf:
5. NEJI'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT...I thought it was excellent how Kishimoto turned Neji into a sympathetic character (more so than he already was) by acknowledging his weaknesses and moving forward...the hardest thing for people to do is CHANGE WHO THEY ARE...and Neji as a character did just that!!!!...BEST FIGHT IN THE SERIES (for me at least)

CONS
Only 1 complaint...Kishi...I question how Neji can take two arrows shot at super speeds and still move :sdo:

2. Sasuke vs Deidara

PROS
1. Three likable as hell characters!!!....everyone wanted to see more of what the best version of Sasuke (hebi) could offer after not taking the fights against Orochimaru and Team 7 seriously...plus Sasuke with a sword was dope.
Deidara and Tobi were an entertaining as hell duo...good comedy relief and Deidara showed his strength after taking out Gaara...and he showed his deceptiveness by using the Sand Village as bait in the fight...lolololol that was funny as hell to me.
2. ODDS STACKED AGAINST SASUKE...as a battle situation Deidara had multiple advantages on Sasuke:
- Two on One...which is quite obvious...while he was fighting Sasuke he had Tobi set up AoE attacks throughtout the fight.
- Intel on Sasuke...Deidara came in with info on Sasuke's abilities...he even had a counter to Sharingan Genjutsu!!!
- NO INTEL ON DEIDARA...so Sasuke had to go into this fight blind to his opponent's abilites.
3. ANOTHER CHESS MATCH...the tactics in this fight were very entertaining to me...everytime Deidara seemed to be on the advantage Sasuke had a great counter for that specific attack...for example I thought that Sasuke played this battle sequence VERY well indeed when it seemed he got stuck in a very bad spot here (I was very impressed):
4. SASUKE IS A ****ING GENIUS....I was greatly impressed with the way Sasuke was able to counter Deidara's attacks in EVERY SINGLE BATTLE SEQUENCE...EVERY SINGLE TIME:
- A surprise attack:
- Getting caught with a distraction-based attack while STILL analyzing his opponent:
- Using his tools in an innovative way to achieve the necessary results for his attacks:
- Countering Deidara's C4 in a clever ass way using his signature go-to Sharingan Genjutsu and a good old fashion punch right in Deidara's ****ing face...lmaooo
5. Sasuke with the decisive CHECKMATE...in an incredible way in fact...he had this set up AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FIGHT basically...this takes true genius:

3. AND THEN YOU HAVE HIM FALL FOR SHARINGAN GENJUTSU RIGHT AFTER THAT!!!!!
