After he learned of his parents I mean. Maybe he didn't had time to think about that stuff with Akatsuki and World War but after it all ended he had plenty time.

Maybe that was his way of payback for the burden Minato put on him, ending Minato's name, legacy and not allowing it to be carried. Clearly that punch wasn't satisfying enough.
