why nana anime was cancelled?

Do you know why nana anime got canceled and if it will ever come back?
it really got me hooked

It was the mangaka who got sick and had to put the manga on undetermined hold from what I know.

"NANA was never cancelled, not the anime nor the manga - the anime caught up and the manga was on hiatus (and, years later, still is) due to the mangaka being hospitalized, they had no choice but to stop the series because they ran out of adaptable material and didn't want to really make shit up in such a great show.

That's just being unfinished, not cancelled. The show was doing great, fine and dandy, it just had to be ended because of lack of material."
