Why Minato needs FTG if he was the fastest by foot?

some say that Minato is fastest even in foot. but why woud he need FTG if he was fastest in foot?

i think Minato likes Telportation that too through Hiraishin. thats why he uses it. he uses his speed when he wishes to use it seems.

Not only does he use ftg to increase his speed he also has variations of ftg to help him in battle. For defense and improve his offense. He's fast but ftg makes him that more faster. Why run when you can use a jutsu that will take you to your destination instantly?

When he blitzed past Tobi to grab baby Naruto and he was able to react to A coming, turn around, take out a kunai, toss it and teleport. The turning around, taking out a kunai and tossing part while A was right in front of him shows he had faster bodily movement.
