Technically, Minato doesn't need a power boost. He is an Edo, so his chakra is unlimited.

The reason he used it is because Kishimoto just wanted to show that Minato still has Kurama's chakra, and also to add more hype to Minato. Afterall, no other host of the kyuubi has been able to mold its chakra into KCM besides Naruto. All that does is show us Minato is an even bigger badass than we thought.

thats a good point but why wouldnt minato just give it to naruto instead of having it serve no purpose with him

Its just for a show that he has the other kyuubi's chakra...look at the seal...its directed downwards while naruto is upwards...

well, it's true that Minato definitely didn't need to use the cloak SO FAR. from the hokage he's probably the best at sealing, so it's definitely not that he needed the cloak for the seal. nor to teleport the two hokage since he teleported kurama, kushina, and naruto so teleporting humans is no issue either. which leaves the only conclusion that he's maxing up for the juubi. Why, I have no idea. Minato's already gotten the speed and ability to make the cloak of little use, and his arsenal is not chakra intensive, plus he's an edo tensei so chakra is not an issue... he'd have been better off giving the cloak to naruto. that said, he did say he's giving naruto a present, and now it's pretty much confirmed that the cloak is it. so he's just showing it off atm. naruto stands to benefit way more from the cloak than minato does. unless he's planning to use a tbb with the cloak

completely disagree. The simple fact is using the kyuubi's chakra will give minato's techniques a substantial boost in power, and frankly, in their current situation they need as much power as they can get. The chakra is available to him, and if he didn't use it it would be a disservice to the alliance.

Hashirama went SM to perform a technique which needed natural energy (hence Senpou). So him going Sage Mode had relevance.

Well, to enhance it then. KCM doesn't really do anything to enhance Minato's techniques. It makes him faster, but I can't really think of anything else.

This guy isn't hating on Minato, neither are most people who really dislike the fact Minato has Tailed Beast Mode now. The fact of the matter is that it's just not original anymore. Naruto finally had a massive trump card that nobody else had, it was completely original, and then suddenly Minato turns up and uses it as if it's no problem at all; after Naruto had trained for weeks and weeks to gain such power. It's just so irritating.

if you were in minato's shoes and you did not use the km cloak because you thought you were already good enough without it, I'd say you're pretty full of yourself. Plus if you were in his shoes I have no doubt you'd be using it too, just because

The other Kages dont have a power up to use, and make no mistake; if they did they'd be using it too. Also, why is Hashi using sage mode??? Hint:
