Why Mei > Gaara with facts inside

I still think Gaara would stand a better chance of winning in a fight against Mei because he can spam more sand than she can spam her water or lava, from the on-panel feats we have of her. Anyway OP, you're still cool.

Gaara is the strongest sand manipulator arguably in the series. He has shown that in a desert, it is nearly impossible for you to have the edge against him. However Mei is one of those people, that would be able to beat gaara in a fight.

Before I proceed, I would like to explain some mechanics of sand. Sand is capable of turning into glass under intense heat. We all know that Mei is capable of producing that heat, with her Lava style.

All of Gaara's techniques revolve around the usage of sand. If Mei wishes so, she can spew large amounts of lava onto the sand causing it to turn into glass. This does leave her open to attack, however she also is a skilled water user. Techniques such as Water Release: Water Encampment, have been shown to create a barrier of water around her. I do believe that she possess the perfect defense as well as offense against Gaara's sand based attacks.

Water style is also capable of weighting the sand down, thus making it much harder and chakra taxing to manipulate. I do believe Mei is the worst possible opponent for Gaara.

I will admit, until she has been seen using Water techniques on a massive scale like Tobirama's, it would be almost impossible for her to beat Gaara in a desert. However if its outside of a desert, gaara is at a disadvantage.

Yes I agree Mei can defeat gaara. She also has Hidden Mist jutsu to Keep Gaara from knowing where she is and where to aim. Hidden Mist would cause Gaara to be on the defensive and Acid Mist with Hidden Mist would cause his sand to be evaporated. She has the capabilities to create an opening against Gaara whenever she wants.
