Why madara saved this manga.

War arc was so boring, it was literally fodders sealing fodders. NV needed a powerhouse to really put the bricks on the good guys.

plus the appearance of madara brought forth the mystery of who was tobi, which was another thing that kept this manga interesting for a long time.

His appearance as edo was epic.....his character, however was very one dimensional and cliche, and his defeat was disappointing. His ascension to Juubi Jin would have been more prominent if Obito hadn't already done it 1st and spent like 50 chapter trying to defeat him.

Once Madara came in and took over as Juubi Jin it became redundant.

So yes and no. He saved the war arc up until he bacame Juubi Jin (for me at least)

Yup, Madara brought in an excitement and entertainment to manga, but when Hokages arrived to battle field, he slow down a little bit and just sitting and watching, but when he make a move again, the excitement come.

I agree with OP. Madara def brought a whole new level to this manga. He def lived up to the hype when he was first introduced. I still feel if he had stayed the final villian and there was no kaguya, the manga would have been better

Madara was hyped as a legend since the beginning, and he didn't disappoint. He was worthy of the fear his name evoked.

It would have been great to see Naruto and Sasuke battle longer with him and take him down themselves.
