Don't worry, I'm not here to defend Kishi or state the obvious. People complained that the Obito flashbacks brought more questions than answers. They're partially right. I believe that the flashbacks we've gotten were not meant to comfirm everything, but to take the first step to hopefully something huge. After all, ending a storyline with a epic finale is crucial. It somewhat decides how people will remember Naruto.
And Kishi's specialty are the plot twists on every corner. Whether they're small ones like Pain being Jiraiya's student and Kushina being the previous Jinchuuriki or they're big ones like Itachi's loyalty to the Leaf and Obito being Tobi all along, he realizes it keeps the readers talking and interested. Remember how everybody reacted to the recent sudden bloodbath? People loved it... because it was shocking and unexpected.
So I believe Kishi is holding back because once it's revealed...
1. Why Kakashi killed Rin
2. What was so special about her
3. What the situation with the Mizukage, Kisame and the Bloody Mist was
4. Where Spiral Zetsu is
5. Why Obito attacked Konoha
6. And what exactly went down in the Uchiha massacre
... it might just completely turn the storyline upside down (in a good way), which is a trump card Kishi would want to use for the right moment. And there's a good possibility that Kishi can't explain it until the end of the battle, just to keep the intensity. It's also likely that these 6 mysteries are all connected to each other. For example, it could be impossible to reveal why Obito attacked Konoha without also explaining about Yagura + the Mist or the reason behind Rin's death to fully understand.
Anyway, I don't want to bore you to death haha... so I'll just summarize it. Perhaps Kishi can't fully explain just one scene to us, as he will need to reveal everything connected to it... and it make sense he doesn't want do 10 chapters of flashbacks in one go, when there's an epic battle going on. So it's all about waiting for the right moment, which is perhaps near the end of the War arc. And perhaps we can expect an epic plot twist to come out of it as well, as he needs to go all out with the action and story.
