actually minato gave tobirama and hiruzen some of his KCM chakra in order for them three to be in the same chakra level as hashirama.here where minato places his hands on tobirama and hiruzen,bottom right panel.
He already explained that he had a give for naruto. Kishi allowing minato to use kyuubi mode was for a different purpose. He could have easily just give the chara to naruto and been done with it. The big question that I attempted to answer, IS WHY IS HE USING IT.
Everyone knows that naruto will get the other half of kyuubi's chakra from minato. The big question is why is Minato using kurama's chakra. And thats what i tried to answer.

This isnt a thread about who has more chakra (as you would know if you read my OT), this was stating that Tobirama's chakra is stronger than Minato's.

It was explained in part 1 that Naruto's chakra control was very poor and he was using up a lot of chakra to make one or two clones. On the other hand Sakura, who has very good control could use considerably less chakra to make MORE clones.....
You assume that
A. FTG uses very little chakra as Minato uses it so often (he could just have excellent chakra control)
B. The translation from Japanese to English was perfect and was 100% accurate in showing Might Guy's feelings towards the barrier (He could have just meant something so powerful could only be made by a Kage)
C. Might Guy can perfectly analyse the barrier and has a perfect understanding of what a Kages power should be (he's not even a sensor)
D. That base Minato has no chance at all of meeting this Kage power (based on nothing at all)
WAAAAY too many assumptions to be making such claims. So many people can make very good arguments for Minato being the best Hokage of all time and although I do not share this view the fact that people can make this legitimate argument surely means he at least has a chance of having as much chakra as the second or third.

You chakra reserves are how much chakra you can hold or have. Your chakra strength is how powerful your chakra is, which can also be responsible for who strong your jutsu are.

Kishimoto may have allowed Minato to use kyuubi mode becuase he didnt have the Powerful Chakra that was needed by all four users to create the barrier. As he never displayed powerful chakra it in the manga.
Also, I am in no way saying that minato doesnt have a huge chakra reserve, Im just stating that his chakra may not be as strong as the other hokage's. Which is why he used kyuubi mode, so that he would access stronger chakra.

Reason why Gai said "Hokage level" instead of "Kage level". Only "Hokages" could use that barrier because they are the only one who have access to informations you can find in the scroll. Well the way I think about it is that Chakra reserves are the amount of chakra one can hold. For instance lets say naruto and sasuke are carrying a bucket full of water. Well in terms of there chakra reserves naruto's bucket would be alot bigger than sasukes, becuase naruto is able to hold/produce more chakra that sasuke.
Say the bucket on the left is naruto's and the bucket on the right is sasuke's

For example in a post I poster earlier it showed Hiruzen and Hashiram destroying the enviroment around them because there chakra was so dense when released.
Also when minato sealed the kyuubi's chakra within himself he noted that the kyuubi's chakra was so dense that it was numbing his body.
The density and/or strength of your chakra determins the strength of your jutsu, IMO.
A example would be Hiruzen's Shadow clones vs Naruto's shadow clones. If you notice in orochimaru and hiruzen's fight hiruzens shadow clones took alot of damage yet were not dispersed, as seem countless times with naruto's base clones where which it would only take a simple punch to disperse them.
It was even to the point where hiruzen's clones would cought up blood and have Kunai severly puncturing theree chest yet they still fought.

My belief was because he was able to create stronger clones because his chakra was stronger than naruto's.
